Monday 26th November

Well, there we go - its over. Australia and India were fabulous - loads of experiences to bore family and friends with over the next few weeks! Now it's an 8 hr flight to Heathrow, pick up the car from the office and home to unpack. Needless to say, Mhairi is desperately trying to spend the last of the rupees, which is harder than you might think in Delhi airport! Dollars are king! However, I'm sure given her experience she'll succeed! I'm recovering in the lounge from a little too much of the spicy food last night - oh for a Sunday roast.

Final post maybe once we get home - hope those of you tracking the blog have had a taste of what we've experienced! Until then.......

Sunday 25th November

Well, the last night in Delhi is here.  We're just relaxing in a hotel near the airport (room view is here for you to be envious of - NOT).  Dinner in a couple of hours, then bed before a 0430 car to the airport for the 0705 Delhi to London flight.  Can't wait for the wonderful weather !!

Saturday 24th November

Our tour started at 0900 this morning with a day time visit to the Amber Fort (via the pink city) which was so fascinating we did not leave until midday - and when we did, it was for another fort called Jaigarth Fort where the worlds largest moveable cannon is housed. Very impressive but also very difficult to view without being hassled by an Indian Army security guard who seemed to also have a part time job as a tour guide!

On the way for lunch we stopped for a quick photo opportunity at the lake palace and then went to Jantar Mantar which is an ancient astronomical observatory. Well, Tim had to have some fun given the shopping Mhairi wanted to do!

Toured a few shops but the carved elephant that Mhairi wants eludes her. So now we've had dinner (bet you can't guess what that was!) and now we're retiring before the return flight to Delhi tomorrow morning where we will chill for an afternoon before travelling home on Monday morning.

Last few blog posts to follow in next 48 hrs or so.

Blurry!

Found a couple of Americans to take a photo of us at Jal Mahal (The Lake Palace) in Jaipur, but we're a little uncertain of their photographic skills! A full day blog post to come later.

Friday 23rd November

Finished lunch and planned our time in Jaipur tomorrow. Loads to see! Hired a driver for the early evening and went off to the Amber Fort to see a sound and light show. Amazing finale as the entire fort was completely lit up.

Came back to hotel for dinner on the rooftop restaurant before retiring for the night.

Arrived Jaipur

After the shortest flight probably in the world, we have arrived at our hotel in Jaipur where we will be staying for the next 2 nights. The hotel is very traditional which means we'll have to have the camera fully charged up as Mhairi is likely to be going photo crazy!

Off to plan our excursions for the day tomorrow as we get a car for the day in our rate - so long as it comes with a driver we'll be ok as Jaipur roads are just as crazy as Delhi roads. First things first however...... Hic!
